The dynamic and progressive nature of AI as well as current advances such as generative AI will be considered in various urban settings to enable smart and sustainable cities and communities. The Thematic Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cities will develop frameworks and methodologies to harness AI in conjunction with other frontier technologies such as big data, IoT, cloud computing and robotics to efficiently and effectively deliver urban services and operational processes. The Thematic Group will offer a perspective in enhancing and automating decision-making with future foresight while taking into account AI principles and targets set in the Sustainable Development Goals and other international commitments.
